paws for a cause rescue event {with shorty rossi}

A few weeks ago, Beth and I volunteered our photography services to an awesome rescue event Paws for a Cause, featuring Shorty Rossi (Animal Planet’s “Pitt Boss”) presented by Hardeko and Dog Daze Pet Shop. Shorty took an overnight (aka red-eye flight) to attend the event. Throngs of people lined up for hours on end to get their pictures taken with Shorty and his pittbull Hercules. All of the money collected went to charitable and educational causes for animal rescue groups. In addition to Shorty there were tons of Rescue Organizations with adoptable animals, as well as great vendors and sponsors.

Just as I was getting some real beauty portraits of Miss Stella, a few little birds had the nerve to chirp. Well that did not please Stella one bit…

Of course, she is not all diva. Stella definitely has a sweet cuddly side that she shares with Tiffany. Oh to be Tiffany…

Okay seriously, could Stella’s little face and head be any cuter? I love me some little flat faced doggy…

Tiffany sure is sweet with Stella. I love this expression captured.

I first met Gatsby’s humans Brian and Amy while photographing Erin and Matt’s wedding. Aren’t they just the cutest…

Soooo much love going on here…

I’ve photographed a lot of dogs in my time, but Gatsby wins the prize! Never before have I had the pleasure of photographing such a sweet and easy going canine model. Totally love this shot of Gatsby taking in the joys of the beach…

A truly wonderful afternoon of tricks, treats, and sweet details of this very loved Golden Retriever….

Every retriever’s favorite thing is a quick stroll in the water. Gatsby was loving this perfect ending to his big day in the spotlight…

baby mila {4 months}

baby clara {2 weeks}

I’m pretty sure these images tell you exactly how I feel about photographing babies… LOVE IT! This is my good friend Carolynn’s new baby girl Clara…

I absolutely adore capturing the preciousness of a brand new little life.

Carolynn and Adam are having me photograph Clara’s first year. I love how little Maromi (bottom right image) is so curious about her new human sister. Little detail images like these will be so great in the final product… an album!

Here is Miss Clara getting a little Daddy time… so sweet!

My heart melts a little every time I look at these photos. Tiny feet…

and itty bitty hands!

Life can be hard at any age…

Luckily in Clara’s case there is usually a pretty quick fix…

I’d say overall Miss Clara is one of the luckiest girls in the world, as clearly every little molecule of her being is loved in its entirety!

kylie {class of 2011}

Kylie is a super cool senior that I had the great pleasure of photographing. She loves photography, and even has her very own uber awesome Holga camera…

It is my own personal opinion that Kylie could have her choice of being behind or in front of the camera. Loving these casual fashion portraits in front of the school…

cyd + nina {a girl and her dog}

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when Cyd of The Sweetest Occasion fame, asked me to photograph portraits of her dog Nina. Okay, I guess I can tell you… I was super thrilled!

Everyone who knows me, is very aware of my dog obsession. I own three dogs myself. As if that isn’t enough, I literally point out every dog I see to whomever may be keeping company with me. By the way, that is not any kind of exaggeration. Well meeting Nina, was no exception. Not only is Nina such a good girl, this five year old black lab is quite the beauty…

Nina is also very affectionate. She gives her family lots of kisses…

Of course, Nina is the target of much affection herself…

Like most dogs, Nina loves nothing more than to hop in the car and go to someplace fun like a great big park…

But sometimes her regal ways do subside, and she goes bonkers for rolling in the grass or chewing on a favorite toy…

Being a labrador retriever you know Nina loves water! While she didn’t get to go in this time, she seemed happy enough to be sitting near it. I was basically in Photography Heaven at this point. I mean just look at this next series with the lovely Cyd and Nina, and that incredible sunset…

This is definitely a new favorite for me…

I confess by the time we were done with this fun day of shooting, Nina was ready to go home and go to sleep. So a big thank you, to both Cyd and Nina, for all that you gave to make these great portraits… you are awesome! xoxo, Alice
