Photojojo is a super fun online resource for photographers and photo enthusiasts. As Photojojo put it themselves… “we find the best photo shiz anywhere.” They have super fun items that are unique and amazing.

Check out these fun items we received recently. First up, the super fun Fujifilm Instax Camera, which provides photographers with little instant photo jewels. Photojojo was kind enough to be our sponsor at last month’s PUG meeting, and we gave away a FujiFilm Instax camera as the door prize. The lucky winner was Robert Kaussner (aka very talented wedding photographer in the Ithaca area). He did a lovely post about the meeting and his prize on his blog. Be sure to leave Robert a comment on his blog… us photographers love it when our readers leave comments… hint, hint.

Let me back up for a minute. Look how cute their packaging is… note the little plastic dinosaur that came with the camera. Just a fun little perk for shopping with Photojojo…

Beth and I had so much fun taking it out for a test spin photographing some spring blossoms. Here is a snap of I took of Beth with the Fuji Instax…We found another great find at Photojojo which is the perfect compliment to these cute little instant photos. Photo Hangers! Yep, we found them at Photojojo too! These could be the perfect item to use in a DIY table card display or about a million other clever ideas for those talented DIY brides out there.

Last night was our monthly CNY PUG (Pictage User Group) meeting for professional photographers! Unfortunately a few of our members couldn’t make it due to little life events, like oh going to have a baby any day now, dogs in surgery, sick kids, and jetting off to Florida… you know who you are :) Luckily for the rest of us, it was a super informative meeting as well as being loads of fun… oh hello Dash Riprock. We wanted to give a big GIANT THANK YOU to Kevin Kubota and the amazing PR Princess Wendi at Kubota Images for donating our fantastic door prize. The uber fab Laure Lillie was this month’s door prize winner, and the rest of us are delighted with our coupons. As you can clearly see below…

Last night was the third meeting for our Central New York Pictage User Group (PUG). We were so thrilled to have Steve DePino drive all the way from Connecticut to speak to our group. We’ve got a great group of core members, and also welcomed a few newcomers!

Steve was really lucky to win last night’s door prize donated by super cool Shai at www.spiderholster.com. Here is Steve gun slinging it Wyatt Earp style..

No this isn’t a meeting about pugs…although everybody knows I love those little munchkins. PUG stands for Pictage User Group a meeting for professional photographers. Once a month, I host our Central New York PUG, and it’s always fun as well as infomative.

I’m so excited to announce the super-cool-one-and-only Steve DePino will be joining us on Tuesday {12/08/09}. Beth and I heard him speak at the Pictage PartnerCon in New Orleans last month, so we are super excited that he is driving all the way from Connecticut to share his presentation to our peeps!

Steve’s talk is called “My Mother Runs My Business.” During his talk, Steve shares a lot of the motherly advice he received as a kid, and how he incorporates it into some awesome business practices. If you are a professional photographer, and can get yourself to the Syracuse area by 7:30 pm this Tuesday, come on by. Shoot me an email with your RSVP, and we will look forward to meeting you!

With all this talk about PUGs and pugs, I can’t help but share an image of my own little pugaroni…

I can’t tell if Lulu is comfortable, or if she is just trying to be a “big dog” like Franny.

new orleans {woohoo}

This morning my sister Beth (aka my newly anointed studio manager) and I hopped on a jet (blue that is) to New Orleans. We are here to attend the Pictage Partner Conference; and let me tell you, we are beyond excited! If you are going to be there, drop us a line and let’s get together!

There will be three days of amazing presentations by some of the industry’s top photographers, shooting workshops, and tons of “networking” (reads having fun). The coolest part of all, is on Thursday afternoon, we will be involved with a charitable event. All of the volunteers will be working with and photographing a total of 200 local family portraits. You see, these particular families lost most if not all of their family photos to the terror that was known as Katrina. While we can never replace those lost treasures, we can help with the healing by creating some new family memories.

If that isn’t enough, we have a free F-U-N day on Friday!

I couldn’t be happier with the turn out of our first ever CNY PUG (Pictage User Group) meeting! Seriously, it was a great night, and there are so many people to thank!

First, and most importantly, a BIG OL’ THANKS to the amazing Justin and Mary Marantz for such an in depth and truly beneficial presentation. These two were so generous with our group. I know we all walked away from the meeting as better business owners!

Another big thank you to all of the fantastic photographers that came out from all over the Central New York area! You guys rock, and I want you to all come back to next month’s meeting…

Shai Eyan gave the group a really fun demonstration of his new product called the Spider Holster… love the name!

Super big thanks to Dane Sanders author of Fast Track Photographer, for donating an audio version of his book as last night’s door prize! Congratulations again, Marianne, for being the lucky winner! Last but certainly not least, I need to send some hugs and kisses to my awesome family… Beth, Sally, and of course Mom! They helped me so much the last couple of weeks to get ready for this first meeting! The cupcakes were a big hit! Yummm…

After the meeting a few of us had a late night meal at Syracuse’s own Dinosaur BBQ!…. Mmmm, love them drunkin’ shrimp! You can check out Justin and Mary’s video here.

October 6th is a big day/night for me. I’ve been counting down to it. Why? Well, it’s very exciting…

As a longtime member of the Pictage community, I am so happy to announce that I have started a local Pictage User Group (aka PUG) in Central New York. If you are not familiar with Pictage, it is the awesome online service lab for professional photographers everywhere. Exciting right? Well, it gets even better! Justin and Mary Marantz, wedding and portrait photographers extraordinaire, are driving their Mini Cooper all the way from Connecticut to present their super awesome program: Creating Loyalty Beyond Reason.

This meeting is tonight: Tuesday October 6th at 7:30 pm in Baldwinsville, NY. Please come if you can!
