There is an old saying “Actions speak louder than words.” Well I think with all this hand holding, kissing, hugging, and laughing, these two are silently screaming “I LOVE YOU!”

This has been one of my busiest seasons in a long time! I love my clients so much, and have so many great sessions to share with you. So without further ado, I’m going to climb back on the horse named “blogging,” and share some of these amazing folks that make me smile everyday!

steve depino {speaking at tuesday’s cny pug meeting}

No this isn’t a meeting about pugs…although everybody knows I love those little munchkins. PUG stands for Pictage User Group a meeting for professional photographers. Once a month, I host our Central New York PUG, and it’s always fun as well as infomative.

I’m so excited to announce the super-cool-one-and-only Steve DePino will be joining us on Tuesday {12/08/09}. Beth and I heard him speak at the Pictage PartnerCon in New Orleans last month, so we are super excited that he is driving all the way from Connecticut to share his presentation to our peeps!

Steve’s talk is called “My Mother Runs My Business.” During his talk, Steve shares a lot of the motherly advice he received as a kid, and how he incorporates it into some awesome business practices. If you are a professional photographer, and can get yourself to the Syracuse area by 7:30 pm this Tuesday, come on by. Shoot me an email with your RSVP, and we will look forward to meeting you!

With all this talk about PUGs and pugs, I can’t help but share an image of my own little pugaroni…

I can’t tell if Lulu is comfortable, or if she is just trying to be a “big dog” like Franny.

I couldn’t be happier with the turn out of our first ever CNY PUG (Pictage User Group) meeting! Seriously, it was a great night, and there are so many people to thank!

First, and most importantly, a BIG OL’ THANKS to the amazing Justin and Mary Marantz for such an in depth and truly beneficial presentation. These two were so generous with our group. I know we all walked away from the meeting as better business owners!

Another big thank you to all of the fantastic photographers that came out from all over the Central New York area! You guys rock, and I want you to all come back to next month’s meeting…

Shai Eyan gave the group a really fun demonstration of his new product called the Spider Holster… love the name!

Super big thanks to Dane Sanders author of Fast Track Photographer, for donating an audio version of his book as last night’s door prize! Congratulations again, Marianne, for being the lucky winner! Last but certainly not least, I need to send some hugs and kisses to my awesome family… Beth, Sally, and of course Mom! They helped me so much the last couple of weeks to get ready for this first meeting! The cupcakes were a big hit! Yummm…

After the meeting a few of us had a late night meal at Syracuse’s own Dinosaur BBQ!…. Mmmm, love them drunkin’ shrimp! You can check out Justin and Mary’s video here.

birds & bees {spring photography}

Spring is here. With it’s arrival, comes lots of critter activities.

I’m in love with this little blackcap chickadee that is collecting dog hairs, off my back deck, for what is sure to be the most luxurious nest in the neighborhood.

Look at that cute little face!

Just before take off with the newly collected goods. She keeps coming back for more, so I keep brushing Lulu the pug out there. It’s a win, win, win.

I’ve got about ten thousands bees indulging themselves in the blossoms, of this weeping cherry plant, in front of my house. I wanted to photograph the bees, but gave myself the challenge of photographing these wondrous creatures “in flight.”

rainy day {blues}

Whether you are a small dog or trying to fly out of a large metropolitan airport (read JFK), rainy days can make you blue. I was supposed to fly to Los Angeles today, but because of the very rainy weather, my flight kept getting delayed further and further into the evening. So instead of spending the night at the airport, several passengers including myself, resigned to trying again tomorrow.

This is a good time to point out my “I will be there” protocol for any travel sessions. I never fly the day of or even the day before an event. Whether a wedding or a week of portrait sittings, I usually fly in two or three days before any kind of photo session. This gives me plenty of time to settle in, so I can give you my best. Today’s weather flight delays and cancellations are a good reminder of why I work this way.

I love this shot of my pomeranian’s tiny wet legs, after just a short walk in the rain.
