This has been an extremely busy summer, and I can’t believe we are in the middle of August already. In addition to photographing lots of engagements, families, pets, and weddings of course, I’ve also been busy photographing high school senior portraits for the class of 2011!

I had an amazing time photographing Ellen at her family’s rural home near Cazenovia, NY…

How adorable is Ellen’s dog Hunter? Totally adorable…

In addition to having an amazing pond, Ellen’s family also has a big ole barn. I love this first image of Ellen closing the barn door!

I think Ellen is way cool. In addition to her obvious beauty, she is also super nice, smart, and clearly a lot of fun too!

michelle + george {san francisco engagement}

Michelle and George are getting married in just a few short weeks here in Central New York. As I’ve said in the past, if it all possible, I love to photograph my clients engagement sessions in their home town. Lucky for me Michelle and George live in San Francisco! We choose to do their engagement portrait down at Crissy Field near The Golden Gate bridge, as that is where they first met.

While getting to know these two, I learned that George often surprises Michelle with flowers. The day of our shoot was no exception.. Look at how gorgeous these peonies are..

I was pretty much laying on the beach for this next shot, with wind blowing in from the Pacific Ocean. Every time I had Michelle and George jump, the wind swiftly delivered me a mouthful of sand. I didn’t really mind too much, as I knew I was going to love this shot!

Here is one last favorite by one of the bunkers at Crissy Field…

Michelle and George I had such a great time photographing you guys, and am really looking forward to your upcoming wedding! Oh and thanks again for that AMAZING dinner at Helmand Palace! sarah + sean {new york city engagement}

In just a couple of weeks, Beth and I are going to be photographing Sarah and Sean’s wedding in Syracuse. Like so many couples that get married in this area, Sarah and Sean actually live someplace else… aka The Big Apple!

Give me a stylish couple like Sarah and Sean, drop us in a big city (with camera, of course), and I’m like a kid in a candy store! Of course, nothing says New York City like Grand Central Station, so that was our first stop…

How is this for a classic romantic image…

Love these totally cool details my sister Beth captured…

Just nothing quite like a kiss on the cheek…

We then headed up to 42nd street. Don’t imagine these two would have any troubles flagging a taxi…

Once I get going with a fun session like Sarah and Sean’s, I have a hard time stopping. Everywhere I turn, I see another fun shot to take…

We had a lovely walk to the library, and came across these inviting steps…

Sarah has a fantastic sense of adventure, and I just love Sean’s reaction to her bold banister slide in heels…

Every time I look at this next image, I hear the music and words of “New York, New York!” Am I right? It just says it all…

elizabeth + justin {philadelphia engagment}

I love traveling, I love taking pictures, and I love pugs! With all that information, you can just imagine how much I looooovvveeed photographing Elizabeth and Justin who live in Philadelphia!

As Beth and I pulled into Philly the air was thick with misty gray skies and it was beginning to sprinkle! As luck would have it, the moment we stepped out of our parked car, all that gloomy weather started dispersing. The sky was brighter, the moisture was drying, and the sprinkles stopped. Once we met up with Elizabeth, Justin, and their little pug Captain, in the historical part of the city, I knew our session was going to be awesome!

Philadelphia is a fantastic city to walk around in…

Loving this bench, park, and amazing architecture that we stumbled upon in this uber darling park..

While these two are definitely a super fun down to earth couple, they can also apparently turn on the heat when it comes to striking a pose. Can you say fierce?

Don’t forget, I also said they are fun…

Did I forget to say adorable?

In fact, I’d say Elizabeth and Justin definitely meet my ideal client criteria… smart, fun(ny), and animal loving! Check out their little love pug, Captain…

jessica + matt {boston engagement}

Here are some more images from the oh so magnetic duo of Jessica and Matt, and their sweet, sweet, sweet Boston engagement portrait session!

Jessica told me, when she was growing up, she loved the book Make Way for Ducklings. So when Beth and I saw the statues dedicated to the book (which is set in the Boston Public Gardens), we just HAD to photograph Jessica and Matt with the ducks! You can literally see the love these two have for each other…

Whenever possible, I love to photograph my client’s engagement portrait session in a location that is meaningful to them. Jessica and Matt are getting married in Central New York, where Jessica grew up, but they live in Boston. I thought it would be nice for them to have portraits of this exciting time, in the city that they live in now. Boston turned out to be the perfect backdrop for us. I love the charm, history, and romance of Boston…

cyd + nina {a girl and her dog}

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when Cyd of The Sweetest Occasion fame, asked me to photograph portraits of her dog Nina. Okay, I guess I can tell you… I was super thrilled!

Everyone who knows me, is very aware of my dog obsession. I own three dogs myself. As if that isn’t enough, I literally point out every dog I see to whomever may be keeping company with me. By the way, that is not any kind of exaggeration. Well meeting Nina, was no exception. Not only is Nina such a good girl, this five year old black lab is quite the beauty…

Nina is also very affectionate. She gives her family lots of kisses…

Of course, Nina is the target of much affection herself…

Like most dogs, Nina loves nothing more than to hop in the car and go to someplace fun like a great big park…

But sometimes her regal ways do subside, and she goes bonkers for rolling in the grass or chewing on a favorite toy…

Being a labrador retriever you know Nina loves water! While she didn’t get to go in this time, she seemed happy enough to be sitting near it. I was basically in Photography Heaven at this point. I mean just look at this next series with the lovely Cyd and Nina, and that incredible sunset…

This is definitely a new favorite for me…

I confess by the time we were done with this fun day of shooting, Nina was ready to go home and go to sleep. So a big thank you, to both Cyd and Nina, for all that you gave to make these great portraits… you are awesome! xoxo, Alice

erin + matt {engaged}

Before photographing Erin and Matt for their engagement session, I asked each one (individual of the other), some getting to know you questions. I was struck by the sweet, kind and similar remarks each had to the question “What is one thing that your fiance´does right now that you never want to forget?”

Erin: “How his face lights up whenever he sees me, no matter where we are.”

Matt said “It is the way that she makes me feel when I come home at the end of the day.”

Well it’s easy to see why Matt’s face lights up when he sees the oh so beautiful Erin…

And how cute and fun is this little display of affection from Matt…

I just love Erin’s infectious laugh in this next image…

These two say they are opposites. It must be the kind of opposite that peanut butter is to jelly… each one is just so much better with the other…

Don’t you love Erin and Matt’s beautiful backyard? So nice for summertime relaxing. Check out the gorgeous red rose Matt gave to Erin just because he knows she likes them.

Of course, I’ve got to get a kissing photo in here. So cute…

My beautiful niece Abby had her High School Senior Ball about a week ago. I can’t believe she is getting ready to graduate and go on to college. So glad Beth and I could be there to photograph some portraits of her and her friends. This is by far my favorite of the evening…

Isn’t this a great looking bunch? Loving all of the different colors the girls wore. Love you Abby, you look gorgeous!
