clara {big girl portraits}

Big Girl Clara was one of my first Baby’s First Year models.  It seems like yesterday when she was an itty bitty newborn.  Now look at her… doing the dishes and everything.

Using the Big Girl Potty is new and exciting; and Clara loved making these portraits to help celebrate this achievement… so adorable!

Nobody captures Clara’s attention like her mommy (who just happens to be Carolynn Giordano- the ever so talented creative genius behind Two Brunettes Design Co.).

While he can’t compete with the family dog “Ro,” Pluto makes a pretty awesome snuggle buddy…

Love these girls!  xoxo

guiness + little man {virginia dog portraits}

Some of you may remember a portrait session I did with Jennifer, John, and their sweet dog Bear a few years ago.  Sadly, Bear is no longer with us, but Jen and John have since rescued a couple of new sweethearts.  Introducing Guiness and Little Man…

It’s difficult to tell in these photographs but Guiness is about as huge as Chocolate Lab can be.  He can be a handful at any given moment, so we were all so impressed with his seriously mad modeling skills!  What a handsome fellow…

I’m afraid once I get started on Little Man, I won’t be able to stop. He is so stinking adorable with his short little legs with the beautiful dalmation spotted coloring.  Somebody broke the mold with this one…

I love photographing dogs, and it is a part of my business that I’m really hoping to expand in the coming year.  If you have any four legged loved ones, please keep me in mind.

Of course, I’ve got to keep giving props to my cool sister Beth for her amazing dog lover’s blog… The Daily Dog Tag.  She is sharing the work of so many great photographers, and I’m lucky to be included in some of her posts.

Nanci - You brought out the best in Little Man and Guiness in these photo’s. Their eyes tell the story…they look happy and loved.

Sis Patterson - Wonderful – gorgeous gorgeous boys! Utterly fantastic photos! Wow!!!

alice - Thanks Beth! xoxo

Beth - You did such a GREAT job bringing out the secret modeling skills of Guiness! Little Man is awesome, can’t wait to share them with my readers!

ashley + mike {philadelphia engagement}

Today, I’m jumping back in with another destination engagement session.  I’m fortunate that my clients tend to live in wonderful urban areas like Washington DC, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and in the case of Ashley and Mike: Philadelphia!

We started off at the infamous Love Park downtown.

I love an urban backdrop, and the fact that we could include the banners’ of Temple University (Ashley’s alma mater) was just the icing on the cake!

Like most of my clients, Ashley and Mike are truly devoted to their dog.  I’m always thrilled when couples want to include their pet.

I’ve never met a vizsla I didn’t like, and Madison is no exception.  She is sooooo cute!

Speaking of cute…

Being from out of town, my favorite part of Philly is the Old Town.  I just love the historical architecture and charm.

Working it!

Yes, we definitely had some good laughs!

Too much cuteness and love!

I’ll be posting photographs from Ashley and Mike’s beautiful autumn wedding soon.  You’ll also be able to see more photographs of super adorable Madison on my sister’s blog The Daily Dog Tag, so be sure to subscribe to her RSS feed.

mary dougherty - love them + their dog!! so fun

Kristin - gorgeous photos, her dress is amazing.

alice - Thanks Carolynn! xoxo

Carolynn@ Two Brunettes - I’m pretty bias, but THESE photos are stunningly amazing. You capture their personalities perfectly, and Miss MADISON, you have a gift with animals.

julia + brandon {cleveland engagement}

As we leave 2012, and head into 2013, it is natural to reflect on the passing year, goals for the new year, and of course the big events like upcoming weddings.  Whatever you have been through, and wherever you are headed, I hope that 2013 brings you closer to the love surrounding you.

With this in mind, I’d like to share some favorites from Julia and Brandon’s autumn engagement session.

Whenever possible, I like to travel to my wedding clients’ city for their engagement session.  I love the idea of capturing images in a location that is both significant and unique to them.   I feel like this adds a sentimental value that doesn’t come with just finding a pretty location that is convenient to me.  For Julia and Brandon that meant a quick trip to Cleveland, where these two sweethearts met during their first week of dentistry school.

I thought the muted colors of the field and the plum colored fall leaves were so beautiful and oozing romance.

This next image is one of my all time favorites…

Wait a minute, maybe this one is my favorite.

Okay, I think I just love every single image in this field.

We ended up in Cleveland’s Little Italy for some fun shots in Julia and Brandon’s favorite neighborhood.

Dear Julia and Brandon, Thanks for being so awesome to work with!  You two are so cute, and I’m super excited for your wedding in 2013!

xoxo, Alice

playing catch up

Surprise, I’m back!  Actually I was never gone, but just started giving more of my attention to my Facebook fan page than my blog.  Then (sheepish downward glance), the next thing I knew, six months had gone by.  Yikes!

So while it is going to take a while, because it has been a very busy year, I’m going to try to catch you up on some of the things that kept me so busy in 2012!

Today I’m going to focus on some features and publications that I was honored to be a part of.

In August, Syracuse’s Baby Times Magazine published their 10th Annual issue; and I was thrilled to be a first time advertiser with them for this milestone.   Photographing your Baby’s First Year, is something that I’m very excited about.  If you or someone you know  is having a baby in 2013, I hope you’ll consider my services.

I also teamed up with my good pal Cyd Converse and her brilliant blog The Sweetest Occasion for some super awesome DIY tutorials.  We’ve got plenty of exciting projects in the works for 2013, so be sure to subscribe to Cyd’s RSS feed!

This next one is still going viral on Pinterest.  I’m pretty sure a lot of folks got some homemade Lemon Sugar Body Scrub for Christmas.

As most (if not all) of you know, my dear sister Beth, started her sensational blog for dog lovers The Daily Dog Tag.  Since my last post here, I’ve been honored to have a few features on her blog.

The Beautiful Well Wed New York Magazine did a lovely post on this gorgeous DIY wedding in Cazenovia, NY.

One of my favorite wedding blogs (especially for your Central New York brides) The Lovewell Post, featured one of my favorite brides and her gorgeous November wedding at Turning Stone (another favorite).

This year included another collaboration with Bella Figura which was featured Green Wedding Shoes, but I’ll be doing a whole other post on those images/ creations.  A few miscellaneous post images this year were found here, here, and here.

So like I said, it’s been a busy year.  Much more coming soon- pinky promise.

nanci - So glad to get the latest information. You have been busy! I am looking forward to your 2012 updates. I love your work.

Chrissy - You have been busy!

randal, stephanie, drew and mallory {family portrait}

Who knew that we had the World’s Cutest Family right here in Baldwinsville?   My sister Beth introduced me to Stephanie and her lovely boutique Sissy’s Vintage and Nouveau this past winter, and we’ve become fast friends ever since!  I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her beautiful family’s portrait recently, and just had to share some of my favorites with you…

Just love this sweet portrait of father and son…

And here is Stephanie with her darling little mini me…

This next shot just may be my favorite family portrait of all time…

Mallory is as sweet, smart, and funny as she is adorable.  She is really great at picking flowers for her mommy.

Drew looks like he has a bright future in baseball as number 31!

Thank you so much for being so fun to photograph!  xoxo, Alice
