ruth + jake’s engagement portraits {part one}

My sister Beth and I have been on an engagement portrait session whirlwind; and I’ve got so many great sessions to post!  For starters here is part one of Ruth and Jake’s engagement portrait session.   Although Ruth and Jake live in Illinois, they had planned to get married in a meadow on her father’s property in Cato, NY.  Eventually the location for the wedding changed, so we decided it would be perfect to photograph Ruth and Jake in the meadows, while they were visiting a few weeks ago.

A very special element, to this session, is that all of the antiques had belonged to Ruth’s grandmother.  She was a military nurse, and had great taste in furnishings.   When we pulled out this mirror, I knew we had to hang it on a tree!  I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do…

Mirror, Mirror, who is the cutest couple of them all?

Loving the timeless feel of these black and white images…

Here is Jake working it GQ style for us!

I wish I had acres of gorgeous meadows!

Cato, NY is a darling and quaint little town.  I can’t wait to go back, and photograph there some more!

Oh my gosh, Ruth and Jake just got cuter and cuter as the day went on…

One last shot with the AMAZING mirror!

I’ll be posting part two soon, so check back, as you don’t want to miss it!
