introducing my amazing sister {and new studio manager!}

I’ve been in business for myself for about fifteen years… give or take. Throughout all of those years, I’ve been the girl wearing ALL of the hats… photographer (that is my favorite one), marketer, accountant, errand girl, editor, etc. If you have ever been in business for yourself, you know there are A LOT of hats to wear. Well, today is a very special day for me, as I’m making it official and public… I’ve got a studio manager! Can I have a Woot Woot?

Introducing Beth…not just my studio manager, she is also my sister… I love her so much!

Beth is going to be helping me grow my business with networking, special projects, scheduling, marketing, and if I’m lucky she may run an occasional errand or two.

sara and jordan {sort of}

I had a great family portrait session with Jeff and his beautiful daughters Jordan and Sara. You may remember Sara from her senior portrait session! After the shoot today, we were talking on the front porch saying our goodbyes, as they were all getting ready to head home. At some point I glance over and see Jordan playing with her hair, and making a faux mustache with it. I felt like I had just hopped into a time warp machine, and was transported (more years than I care to mention) to my own teenagehoodness. So of course, I just HAD to make a “Mustache Portrait” of the girls. I thinks it’s a hilarious image, and well suited for the night before Halloween…

Thanks guys! You are always so much FUN to work with!

jamie and maggie {family portrait}

Karen had the fun idea to surprise her husband, with portraits of their daughters, for his birthday. Happy Birthday Dan…

This is Jamie… I’m so excited to be photographing her senior portrait session in a few days. So kind and lovely!

This is Jamie’s younger sister Maggie and her favorite pet… Sweetie. Maggie has autism. I only mention this because I’ve never worked with an autistic person before, and I didn’t know what to expect from the portrait session. I learned a great lesson… disabilities don’t get in the way of having a grand old time, when taking photos! I had a blast photographing this beautiful family (you know, that rare inside and out kind of beauty).

So beautiful…
